April 8, 2022
If you’re in charge of purchasing edtech for your school or district, you know that education is one of the largest markets in the world right now. New companies and established players alike are working to innovate and support the future of digital student learning.
As an IT leader or administrator, the multitude of edtech options to explore can be overwhelming. That’s what makes edtech conferences like Bett so powerful.
Lenovo and LanSchool celebrated their vision for the future of education. Here is a roundup of the top experiences shared with educators at Bett 2022 in London:
Lenovo NetFilter launch
Digital security is one of the top challenges schools and districts face today. Students and school devices are a hot target for malware and phishing attacks from cyber criminals looking to steal student data. In addition, students can be affected by cyber bullying and inappropriate digital content.
Lenovo recently introduced Lenovo NetFilter and Lenovo NetFilter+, a new web and content filter for the education space. Educators at Bett, got a first look at and the chance to ask questions about the new cloud-based software. Read 5 Reasons Lenovo NetFilter Is Good for Schools
VR science lab
Virtual reality is breaking down the walls of the classroom and taking students to places they may never go otherwise. Thanks to VR technology, students get to experience famous museums and faraway lands. Lenovo is deeply immersed in the world of VR, with the development of education-focused products like the Lenovo VR Classroom 2, which comes with VR-compatible LanSchool and other educational software from partners like Exploros.
At Bett, Lenovo demonstrated their VR vision in the VR Science Lab. Read more about the future of VR for education here.
Sustainability garden

eSports interactive demo

eSports is a hot topic among educators, and not just because it’s fun. eSports is a $1 billion field and a potential career path for students. Competitive eSports can also teach students valuable skills like persistence, sportsmanship, and communication.
At Bett, Lenovo treated educators to an interactive demo on the benefits of eSports. Lenovo not only offers hardware to facilitate eSports, but also consulting services to help schools and districts stand up an eSports strategy. Read more
